Wargaming needed a consistent stream of high‑impact key visuals to promote these events across in‑game banners, storefronts, social media, and UA campaigns.
• Translate each season’s narrative, setting, and mechanics into a single memorable illustration that works at both billboard and thumbnail scale.
• Balance cinematic storytelling with clear tank readability, faction silhouettes, and premium vehicle highlights to support sales and event participation.
• Maintain visual consistency with the established World of Tanks Blitz brand while experimenting with new color palettes, lighting, and composition for every season.
• Discovery & briefing: Collaborated with the Wargaming publishing and game design teams to clarify each season’s story arc, key vehicles, environments, and priority markets.
• Concept exploration: Produced multiple thumbnail compositions per season, exploring different focal points (hero tank vs. environment vs. characters) and mood directions before narrowing to 1–2 approved sketches.
• Production & polish: Developed high‑resolution 2D illustrations using a mix of 3D blockouts for tanks and environments plus hand‑painted detailing, focusing on dynamic lighting, FX, and atmospheric depth that read well in motion trailers and static formats.
Delivered a reusable key art toolkit per season (master illustration, crops, social formats, storefront headers) that shortened Wargaming’s campaign production time and ensured consistent visual messaging across channels.
Supported higher visibility for seasonal operations and special offers by providing striking hero images that stood out in app stores, event hubs, and performance marketing creatives.
